The Data Standard Initiative Group (DSIG)
DSIG is a non-profit initiative based in London on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Fabian Ulrich – Head of International Relations & Strategic Projects at Deutscher Fußball-Bund e.V. (DFB) and Professor of Sports Management and Strategy at accadis University of Applied Sciences.
We bring together experts from academia, sports science, and technology.
Our work is supported by leading institutions such as national football associations, professional sports clubs, National Olympic Committees, renowned top universities, sports management research groups, sports research labs, sports academies and cities bidding to host major international events.
Together, we collaborate to develop and promote a standard that benefits the entire sports ecosystem.

National football associations serve as umbrella organizations for numerous regional football associations and thousands of clubs. With millions of members across affiliated clubs, they represent some of the largest national sports associations in the world.
Professional sports clubs in football, American football, basketball, and other major leagues compete at the highest levels, fostering talent, driving fan engagement, and advancing athletic performance through innovative training, technology integration, and global competitions. These clubs often collaborate on initiatives to enhance player development, sustainability practices, and the overall growth of their respective sports ecosystem.
Sports research labs are non-profit entities that aim to conduct science and research on future issues in sports and society.
Sports management research groups at universities for applied sciences bring together various disciplines to investigate numerous facets of the sports business, such as sports finance topics, e-sports and sustainability, digitalisation in the sports business and fan engagement, strategy and internationalisation, sports ethics topics, personnel issues and the metropolitan idea in sports development, as well as sports law, compliance and anti-doping issues.
